In today's competitive acting industry, self-tape auditions have become a crucial component of the casting process. Actors must possess the skills to deliver captivating performances through the lens of a camera, showcasing their talent and versatility effectively. This course is designed to equip actors with the essential techniques and strategies needed to excel in self-tape auditions. Throughout this course, participants will delve into various aspects of self-tape auditions, from preparation to delivery, under the guidance of seasoned industry professionals. Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical exercises, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the following key areas:

GLEBE STUDIO
The class that ends with a performance! This unique course offers participants an opportunity to develop a practical process for acting -- through preparation, rehearsal and right up to the performance. This 7-week course is an excellent opportunity to build upon your existing skills and learn new ones with veteran actor Joey McDougall. Participants will work with Joey on a one-act play or selected scenes throughout the 7 weeks and perform it for an invited audience of family and friends in the studio on the last class.

Michael Coady is an award-winning actor, producer, writer, working between LA, Toronto and his native Newfoundland, Canada. As an actor, he has made guest star and co-star appearances on shows like the BBC America Series, "Copper", "The Lottery" on Lifetime Network, CBC series "Murdoch Mysteries" and "Republic of Doyle", CMT series "Angels Among Us", History Channel series "Zero Hour", National Geographic Channel "Valentine's Day Massacre", and "1000 Ways to Die" on Spike TV. Michael's film credits include "My Mom's Darkest Secrets", "By Water's Edge" (screened at the 2011 Cannes Festival), "The Historian Paradox" (won Audience Choice Award at the Big Island Film Fest in Hawaii), "Silent Night in Munice" (with R.D. Call [Into the Wild, Babel, State of Grace]; screened at the Action on Film Festival in Los Angeles), and the multiple award winning web series "Dead Grandma". Michael's theater credits include the Toronto productions "Evita", "Cabaret," and the Canadian premiere of "Urinetown." He also produced and starred in the East Coast Canadian premiere of "Doubt" in 2008.
Michael is holding a 4-week course on perfecting the self tape taking place on Mondays from 7 - 8:45 PM, May 27 - June 17 at our Kanata Studio.
